Whats In Season?

Thanks to international trade and supermarkets on all our doorsteps it's easy to forget sometimes that we live in a country of seasons. Here at  Strawberry Fields we're big advocates of stocking seasonal fruit and veg and showing our customers the benefits of doing so.

What are the benefits of Eating Seasonably?
Eating fruit and veg that's in season has many great benefits to both you and the environment. Growing fruit and veg in their natural season requires little or no artificial lighting, fertilisers or any other artificial inputs. If that wasn't enough buying fruit and veg in season can be up to a third cheaper than the same fruit and veg out of season, and, as many top chefs have agreed, fruit and veg in it's natural season can taste significantly better than fruit and veg bought out of season.

March - May, Spring is here and it's a season of new beginnings and a fresh new taste!
A season for hearty eating of solid, warm and fresh foods to get you through those long, brisk spring days. Often associated with bland food, a British spring season actually offers a real range in taste, textures and some wonderful combinations for both fruit and veg.
